Please review the following policies before booking your appointment.

Appointment Policies

Deposits

A deposit is required to secure your appointment. Deposits go toward the total service cost and are non-refundable.

Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit is received.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Please provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will result in 50% of the total service cost required prior to booking again.
  • No-call/no-shows will be required to pay in full before booking again.

This policy helps ensure appointment times are available for other clients.

Late Arrivals

Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.

  • Clients arriving 15 minutes late or more may need to reschedule depending on the service booked.
  • Late arrivals may also result in modifications to your service to stay on schedule.

No-Shows

Clients who miss their appointment without notice may be required to pay for the missed service before booking again.

Service Policies

Consultation

Some services may require a consultation before booking, especially for:

  • Starter locs
  • Loc extensions
  • Major repairs
  • Braided extensions
  • All offered extension services

This helps ensure we select the best service for your crown.

Hair Preparation

Unless otherwise stated, please arrive with hair that is:

  • Free of heavy product buildup
  • Free of excessive tangling or matting

If additional detangling or repair work is required beyond the booked service, additional fees may apply.

Additional Time or Repairs

If your hair requires:

  • Extensive loc repairs
  • Excessive new growth maintenance
  • Extra detangling

Additional service time and charges may apply.

Parent/Guardian Responsibility

For our younger clients, we ask that a parent or guardian remain present during the entire service.

  • Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their child and ensuring they follow instructions during the appointment.
  • Miss Messy Bun takes every precaution to provide a safe and comfortable experience, but parents/guardians are responsible for any incidents that may occur while the child is in the salon chair.
  • This helps us provide a smooth, enjoyable service for your little one while keeping everyone safe.

Safety & Liability

At Miss Messy Bun, your hair's health and safety are our top priorities.

  • Services and products are provided with care, but results may vary depending on your hair type, condition, and home care.
  • We are not responsible for damage from pre-existing hair or scalp conditions, improper at-home maintenance, or allergic reactions to products used during your appointment.
  • Please let us know about any scalp, hair, or skin concerns before your service so we can tailor our approach and keep your crown healthy.
  • While we strive for the best results, no stylist can guarantee exact outcomes for hair growth, repair, or style longevity.

Product Orders

Processing Time

Orders are typically processed same day or next business day.

Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship the next business day.

Shipping

All Miss Messy Bun products are shipped directly to customers.

Shipping times vary depending on the carrier selected at checkout. Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.

Local Pickup

At this time, local pickup is not available unless purchasing directly from Sophia at an in-person event or pop-up.

Returns & Exchanges

Due to the nature of personal care products, all product sales are final.

If your product arrives damaged or there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can make it right.

Gift Cards

Miss Messy Bun gift cards can be used toward:

  • Hair services
  • Product purchases

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Studio Culture

Respect & Safe Space

Miss Messy Bun is a welcoming, inclusive environment that celebrates natural beauty and healthy hair care.

Clients are expected to treat the space and others with respect and kindness. Services may be refused if behavior becomes disruptive or disrespectful.

Photography & Social Media

Photos or videos of finished styles may occasionally be taken for portfolio, educational, or promotional purposes.

If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know before your service.
